FLP PUBLIC ART: SPRING 2018

FLP offered two Creating Public Art Together classes during the Spring 2018 session.  One class created a large papercut, Paper Words, which is now displayed in the front window at Pegasus Book Exchange in West Seattle. The words and images were chosen by the students in response to visiting Pegasus and in celebration of this treasured West Seattle business.

In the other class, students designed, printed and painted collagraphs, arranging them together to produce a colorful and collaborative piece, Painted Garden.  It celebrates the learning and growth that is shared in our supportive program.  Their work is on permanent display at Southwest Teen Life Center in the downstairs hallway.

We are grateful to their teacher, Erika Bass, for her support and encouragement of our children and promoting their work for all to enjoy.

FACES OF FLP: FALL 2017/WINTER 2018

The Faces of FLP photo wall returns for fall session! If you have already been at FLP this session, you may have passed by the photo wall in the hallway a few times. Maybe you have even stopped to take a look at all of the beautiful faces on that wall. Maybe you’re wondering how you and your family can be part of this photo wall. Or maybe you would like to refresh your photo from last year. Don’t be shy! Come on up and get your family’s picture taken! Look for the volunteer wearing a blue instant camera around her neck.

FACES OF FLP: WINTER/SPRING 2017
The Faces of FLP photo wall has been so fun for regulars and visitors alike! Kids and parents were spotted checking the photos to remember friend’s names and even once to return a lost jacket! Thank you to Heidi for her vision, to all of the photographers, and the volunteers who hung it up each week.

COMMUNITY QUILT: WINTER/SPRING 2016
Community quilting was an amazing experience for so many FLPers! Hundreds of hands, both big and small, added their own touches to this magical blanket for several months in the Winter and Spring of 2016. Thank you to Heidi for her vision and execution and congratulations to Erica for winning the quilt at FLP’s 5th birthday celebration!
