Melanie White worked as a Production Stage Manager at Teatro ZinZanni for more than ten years, wrangling acrobats and serving up nightly helpings of circus, music, and mayhem. She is currently the Education Programs Director for SANCA, the School of Acrobatics and New Circus Arts in Seattle. Melanie also works as a director, with credits in New York, Los Angeles, London, and Seattle, and has more than 20 years’ experience as a teaching artist working with at-risk and under-served youth. She holds a BA in Theatre Arts from Brown University and an MA in Contemporary Shakespearean Practices from the University of Essex. She lives in Seattle with her husband and three children.

A willingness to take chances, play, and think hard!

There may be an occasional short writing assignment to be completed at home (max 200 words once or twice during the session)
Students should bring a notebook and pen and pencil to class.
