In this session we will focus on lino block printing. We will build drawing and design skills while learning and working with the techniques specific to block printing. We will learn about safe handling of the cutting tools. I will weave in some art history and talk about symbols from other cultures, or the student’s own heritage can be a part of the design process! The students will create individual prints and then we will make a collaborative group print…on a t-shirt for each child to keep! We will start some classes with a fun warm-up drawing. If time permits, we may explore another type of printmaking.
