DAY, TIME: TUESDAYS 10:45-11:45
Holly Rikhof is entering her 4th year as an FLP instructor, with 9 sessions under her belt. She studied molecular biology and biochemistry at the University of Colorado and has worked in a variety of research labs. More recently she has used her science background to inspire discovery in the classroom as a COOP preschool parent and as an active parent volunteer at Pathfinder k-8. She very much enjoys inspiring young minds to fall in love with science and to be curious about their world.
We’ll explore the amazing and far reaching field of chemistry through demonstrations, crafts, games, and age appropriate experiments that will intrigue your burgeoning scientist and help them to understand some big chemistry concepts.

We use quite a bit of food for experimentation (not much for consumption, but some). Please talk to me at the beginning of class about food concerns to avoid issues.
I plan to use vegetable oil, food coloring, corn starch, milk, vinegar, syrup, honey, lemons, baking soda, sugar, salt, pepper, red cabbage juice, uncooked spaghetti noodles, marshmallows and candy in our experiments.
Students outside of the age range listed on this class description will not be granted age variance admission.
