She holds a Bachelors and Masters degree in Computer Science from Cornell University, with a specialization in Machine Learning and Operations Research. Her industry experience ranges from software development and project management in supply chain, 3rd party merchant, and transportation systems. Currently, she is focused on homeschooling in her community and technical projects to build stronger communities.

class description

“The Wild Robot” by Peter Brown is a science fiction, adventure and survival philosophical literature targeted for 3rd to 5th graders. For the attentive reader, it’s a great read aloud. In this class, we’ll discuss literary concepts and philosophical ideas (on survival, friendship, nature, belonging, helping others, forgiveness). We’ll incorporate art and other integrative projects with our discussions.

There will be an optional reading of the relevant chapters before class starting at 10:15am.

Required Skills for Students to Be Successful in This Class:

Compliance with Family Rights & Responsibilities.

2nd grade reading and writing skills recommended.

They’ll be a reading schedule for the relevant chapters discussed each week. Optionally, students can come to a reading before class.
