class description

Scared of Shakespeare? You won’t be after this class! Love Shakespeare? Come on down! We’ll dig deeply into Shakespeare’s life and times, explore how iambic pentameter works – and why sometimes it doesn’t – and explore some scenes and monologues. You don’t need any acting experience – or you can bring a lot. Find out why Shakespeare’s plays have been translated into every world language and why, 400 years after his death, he’s still the most-produced playwright of all time. Although the class will have a performance component, it’s not primarily an acting class – anyone willing to come play around with text is welcome.
